1995 FIM Superbike European Championship
For 1995 the European Championship acted as a form of support race to the World Championship, staging its races at 8 of the same events. The collaboration brought more attention and a bigger audience for the continental series and grid sizes began to swell, peaking with a full grid of 36 seen by a crowd of nearly 50,000 at Brands Hatch. Italy and Ducati largely dominated the season; Mario Agnoletti won the opening 2 races but had his season derailed by misfortune, leaving Mario Innamorati to take his place at the front with 5 consecutive victories that kept him at the top of the standings just above the consistent Luca Ruggeri.
